How To Export An Entire eRVin Configuration (Flow)
This is a pretty simple process, you just need a PC or Mac with a browser connected to the same network as your eRVin system. A tablet should also work fine. Just FYI, what we call a “configuration file” for eRVin, is technically know as a “flow” in Node-Red terminology.
‌
- You will need to know the IP address of your eRVin. If the eRVin dashboard is already running, you can get it from the System/Network Information as shown below. If you still can’t find it, this post may help.
- Now connect to Node-Red. From your PC or Mac open a browser window and type your_ip_address:1880 (example 192.168.10.160:1880). If you need more help see this post. This should bring you to the Node-Red “Palette”.
- In the upper right hand corner click the hamburger icon, then select Export:
‌ - On the next screen select all flows, then click Download.
‌
- Choose a meaningful name and an appropriate place on your system to save the file. It is just a text file with a .json extension and should be less than a megabyte.
- If you need to send the file to me, send an email to rob@myervin.com with the file attached.
This is super helpful! The clear steps made exporting my eRVin config so much easier. Thanks for sharing this basic but essential guide.
Thanks!
Great, clear instructions on exporting eRVin configurations! Really helpful for backing up my setup. Thanks for sharing this practical tip.
Thanks!
Many thanks for showing this . I’m on the steep end of the leaning curve
Hey man! I just picked up a 2025 Jayco Granite Ridge 6 days ago. It’s my first unit like this and I’m super interested in diving in to the non-consumer side the Firefly system and RV automation. Your project is rad as f*ck and it looks like exactly the thing I’d be doing. I wanted to pick your brain a little about some stuff, maybe share some ideas, but the “contact me” link is dead so this comment is the only way I can get in touch.
Hit me at the email below… I have a blown inverter, a new Pi, multiple ideas and questions, and a warranty that needs voiding 😉
Thanks!
