Finding eRVin’s IP Address
If typing
coachproxyos
into a browser does not connect you to eRVin, make sure you are connected to the same network that the eRVin device is connected to. If that checks out ok, then you will need to look for the eRVin IP Address on your local network and use that instead. There are many ways to do this:
- If you are familiar with the operation of your router, you can connect to it and somewhere in the admin screens there should be a list of “Clients”. Look for a device in the list of clients with a name like Raspberry or Raspberry Pi or coachproxyos (in eRVinOS v0.5x and older it may also appear as Phillips Hue or similar). If you don’t see anything like that proceed to the next step.
- Use a network scanner app, such as Fing. Download the app to a device on the same wifi network as eRVin and run it, then do a scan of your network. Again, look for a device with a name like Raspberry, Raspberry Pi or coachproxyos. It will look something like the highlighted item in the Fing screen capture below that was done from my Android phone. Make note of the IP address. For example my eRVin’s IP address shown below in the screen capture is 192.168.224.208, yours of course will be different. If you still can’t find it, then you may not have entered the WiFi info correctly into Raspberry Pi Imager when you originally flashed the image. You can try and flash the image again, or you can try this method.
- Now, in your device browser simply enter the IP address for your eRVin (as discovered in the previous step), for example
http://192.168.224.208
then hit enter: - Proceed back to Step 4 of Connecting eRVin to Your RV.
